Abdominal Imaging Fellowships 2011/12-Radiology Department-California University-USA

The Department of Radiology at the University of California offers 10 one-year joint fellowships in Abdominal Imaging for the academic year 2011/12 in San Francisco, USA

The Abdominal Imaging Sections in the Department of Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco offer 10 one-year joint fellowships in Abdominal Imaging for 2011-2012. This is a new program that combines fellowship training that had previously been divided across the three affiliated sites. Fellowship time and training will be integrated across the three campuses, consisting of Abdominal Imaging at Moffitt-Long and Mount Zion Hospitals (Fergus Coakley MD, Section Chief – 22 weeks), the UCSF Veteran Affairs Medical Center (Judy Yee, MD, Chief of Radiology – 15 weeks), and San Francisco General Hospital (Mark Wilson MD, Chief of Radiology – 15 weeks).

Fellowship Details:

  1. The fellowship provides structured training in the performance and interpretations of all forms of Abdominal Imaging and exposes fellows to a large and diverse Abdominal Imaging workload. Fellows receive comprehensive and supervised training in CT of the abdomen and pelvis (including advanced applications such as three-dimensional imaging, CTA, virtual colonoscopy and CT cholangiography), MRI and MRA of the abdomen and pelvis (including liver, prostate, gynecologic and genitourinary applications), image-guided needle biopsies, and GI and GU fluoroscopic examinations.
  2. Successful applicants will be involved in all aspects of Abdominal Imaging, and will fully participate in the clinical, teaching and research activities of the department. Dedicated research time and mentoring is provided.
  3. Previous fellows have pursued successful careers in both academic radiology and private practice.

Foreign Medical Graduates.

  4. Submission of three letters of recommendation requested by you from current and former professors (one should be from your program director)
  5. Copies of USMLE scores (or equivalent, i.e., LMCC)
